Excel Connect Limited ("we")(“us”) are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This policy (together with our terms of use and any other documents referred to on it) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.  Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.

For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act), the data controller is Excel Connect Limited, a company registered in England with registered office address at Suite 6 Number One Beehive, Lions Drive, Shadsworth Business Park  BB1 2QS and company registration number 06539495 (“the Company”)(“we”)(“us”).

We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected.  This privacy policy explains how we use the information we collect about you, how you can instruct us if you prefer to limit the use of that information and procedures that we have in place to safeguard your privacy. 

Information supplied to us will be treated with respect and in accordance with all applicable UK data protection legislation currently in force.

Information will only be used by us for the purposes that you have agreed to. 

1. Information We May Collect From You

We may collect and process the following data about you:

  • Information that you provide by filling in forms on our site www.recruitment.com (the Site). This includes information provided at the time of registering to use the Site, subscribing to our service, posting material or requesting further services. We may also ask you for information [when you enter a competition or promotion sponsored by Us], and when you report a problem with the Site.
  • If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
  • We may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.
  • Details of transactions you carry out through the Site.
  • Details of your visits to the Site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for our own billing purposes or otherwise and the resources that you access.

2. IP Addresses and Cookies

We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers. This is statistical data about our users' browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.

For the same reason, we may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer's hard drive. They help us to improve our site and to deliver a better and more personalised service. They enable us:

  • To estimate our audience size and usage pattern.

3. Where We Store Your Personal Data

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Any payment transactions will be encrypted using SSL technology. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. 4. Uses Made of the Information

We use information held about you in the following ways:

  • To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us.

If you are a new customer, and where we permit selected third parties to use your data, we (or they) will contact you by electronic means only if you have consented to this.

If you do not want us to use your data in this way, or to pass your details on to third parties for marketing purposes, please tick the relevant box situated on the form on which we collect your data.

We do not disclose information about identifiable individuals to our advertisers without the individuals permission, but we may provide them with aggregate information about our users (for example, we may inform them that 500 men aged under 30 have clicked on their advertisement on any given day).  We may also use such aggregate information to help advertisers reach the kind of audience they want to target (for example, women in W1). We may make use of the personal data we have collected from you to enable us to comply with our advertisers' wishes by displaying their advertisement to that target audience.

5. Changes to the Information

We will not monitor or edit the contents of your postings on the Site unless required to do so by law (in particular laws relating to defamation, harassment, or obscenity) or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary:

  • to comply with the law and legal process served on us;
  • to protect and defend our right to property;
  • to act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of our users or the public;
  • to carry out necessary maintenance or improvements to the posting service
  • to ensure that the postings are of a standard that is acceptable to us, our sole discretion, for the inclusion in the Site

We reserve the right to temporarily remove any postings which we in our sole discretion, consider to be of an unacceptable standard to include in the Site for any reason and the right to request that you re-write any such postings and if such postings are not re-written in a manner acceptable to us within 2 working days of such request, such postings shall be removed permanently by us.

In order to maintain the integrity of the Site we reserve the right to forward contact details to any regulatory authorities when requested to do so including the police; we may also forward contact details where a complaint arises concerning your use of the Site and where that use is deemed to be inconsistent with the terms and conditions of use of the Site.

6. Disclosure of Your Information

We may disclose your personal information to any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 736 of the UK Companies Act 1985.

We may disclose your personal information to third parties:

  • In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
  • If the Company or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets.
  • If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our terms of use and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

We will not disclose information relating to you or to any other registered user or employer except when you have, or where applicable the registered user or employer to whom the information relates has, given his written consent to the disclosure.

7. General

The Site contains links to other sites.  We are not responsible for the privacy practice of such other sites.  We encourage our users to be aware when they leave the Site and to read the privacy statements of each and every site that collects personally identifiable information.  This privacy policy applies solely to information collected by us on the Site.

We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. 8. Your Rights

9. Access to Information

The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.

10. Competitions and Surveys

From time to time the Site requests information from users by a survey or contest.  Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information.  Information requested is usually just a name and/or email address but may include contact and demographic information (such as postcode, age level).  Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes.  Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of the Site.

11. Changes to Our Privacy Policy

By submitting your information you consent to the use of that information as set out in this policy.   Any changes we may make to our privacy policy in the future will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you by e-mail.  Continued use of the service will signify that you agree to any such changes.
